Location

Mabouya View is located just outside the village of L’Esterre on the St. Louis peninsular which is some 2 miles to the south of the main town of Hillsborough. L’Esterre is a thriving local community with shops, bars, restaurants and a bakery. It is also home to Paradise Beach which stretches for about 1 miles between Lauriston Point and Cistern Point along L’Esterre Bay. The larger village of Harvey Vale with its restaurants, supermarkets and yachting community is just 1 mile away. The nearest beaches are about an 8 – 10 minute walk away along a track. Nearly always deserted, the sand is black on the one side of the peninsular and white on the other.

Description

Mabouya View is situated on 8,625 sq ft of land. At the front of the property, between a white picket fence are 4 gateposts built with the local Carriacou stone. There are a pair of painted steel gates which give access to the garage and a single gate leads to the greenheart wood front door. The property is well fenced and the owners have developed a beautiful tropical garden around the house. All the walls are rendered block work with a Spanish style waved finish. Bathroom walls are tiled. The ceiling is grooved plywood with a glossy paint finish. The roof beams are stained to match the greenheart doors and windows which have horizontal louvers with mosquito nets. The roof is covered with white aluzinc sheeting. In the living/dining/kitchen and the bathroom the floors are in stone travertine tiles. There are greenheart wooden floors in the corridor, bedrooms and verandas. The interior wooden floors have a polished wax finish and the exterior floors have an oil finish as do railings. The underside of the wooden deck has been treated with wood preservative. The floors in the garage, utility and store room are painted concrete.
